A Long Day

Polar Bear

Made a trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo for an Earth Science project. Of course, I get to have fun with the camera.

Pesky mosquitoes are still stalking me, buzzing my head just as I settle in, whether it be with a book or to sleep at night.

Thanks wynne. The polar bears are always so much fun to watch.

I wish we could get better views of the animals in our zoo! Most are in large areas with lots of places to hide. Difficult shooting conditions here.

Some of the exhibits are more animal friendly, meaning less photographer friendly. I have mixed feelings on that. On one hand, I pay good money to see the animals but on the other, I think the animals should be kept as comfortable and humanely as possible and sometimes that means in less photo friendly environments.

I know what you mean. I want the animals comfortable, but what IS a zoo but to offer a means for people to see animals they would never otherwise get to see? Like I said, there are some animals at our zoo we have YET to see! We were thrilld the last trip because we had not yet been able to see the meerkats, but that trip, they were popping around all over the place. What a thrill to see them and to take pictures of them!
