Munising Falls

This is the entire falls (Munising Falls). I would have benefited from my wide angle lens but it was in the car. Actually, I found myself longing for Canon's 17-40L lens with all the rain. That zoom range was nearly perfect for most of my photographic needs in the UP. Next time, I'm sure I'd find myself longing for a bigger zoom. *sigh*

Last night, I had a scare while editing my photos, watching TV. I managed to spill a Coke onto my MacBook. I cleaned up and prayed. My trackpad was wonky for a bit but all seems well this morning. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Munising Falls

The lower portion of Munising Falls, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The weather was perfect for waterfall photos, no need for a ND filter. I just needed a 4x4 off-road vehicle to get to most of them!

Tawas Point Lighthouse

My ideal vacation would be to travel from lighthouse to lighthouse. I find such a connection to the past in these outdated structures. While many are still active, with modern day GPS units, they are pretty much obsolete as aids to navigation. Sometimes, I look at the home attached to the tower and wonder about the keepers. Did they have a family? Did they enjoy the solitude? The stories these old lights could tell of storms past.

This lighthouse, Tawas Point, is located in Michigan along the coast of Lake Huron.

Pictured Rocks

I went to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan last week for 4 days of the coldest weather in the U.S. It was great, even the Pictured Rocks Boat Tour's sunset cruise. This is a photo of a Pirate's profile seen from the cruise. The UP is as rustic as a I expected and often (daily, hourly) wished for an off-road vehicle equipped with 4 wheel drive and huge ground clearance!

More as time permits and I catch up on my household duties.

Interesting

My Horoscope today:

"You don't want to listen to the voice of reason today, but your options could be limited by the current circumstances. Without an easy way out of your present dilemma, you might have no alternative but to get serious and face the facts. This can be a turning point as you realize that your nonchalant attitude cannot make a very real problem go away. Luckily, your immediate attention to the matter can." ~Rick Levine

If amazes me how often this writer of horoscopes nails my day.

Storm Clouds

I do love a stormy sky and can't resist pulling out the camera. This was from last Friday but yesterday's sky was beautiful, yet again, with stormy clouds. Not surprisingly, I love a rainy night, too.

Still trying to work out the details of a trip to Michigan's UP next week. The mister has to be flexible to watch The Wonderdog. His normal days, with commute, tend to be 12+ hours. Not good for a dog. If that falls into place, I plan on going for at least a portion of the week and to take my Polaroid cameras!
