Happiness

Happiness. People everywhere are the same regardless of race, religion or location. We all want the same thing from life. Happiness. The pursuit of happiness is one of our unalienable Rights under the Declaration of Independence. We all want happiness. Some of us think lots of money will make us happy. Some, the accumulation of stuff but it all comes down to Happiness. Far less wars would be fought if people would recognize that we are all the same with the same wants, needs and desires. More forgiveness would take place in our own lives if we recognize that we're all the same, just doing the best we know. If we would open our hearts and lead with love. Easier said then done, I know. But remember this, each day is a new day and when we stumble, just begin again. When we find ourselves in the midst of suffering, find that happy ground, that silver lining, and when the time comes.... breathe in, breathe out and move on.

"I believe the very purpose of life is to seek happiness. That is clear. ...we are all seeking something better in life. So, I think the very motion of life is towards happiness." ~His Holiness The Dalai Lama from the Art of Happiness.

The above calligraphy is my work in progress as I practice. Angela is working on a 365 Fearless Project and well, sharing my feeble attempts at calligraphy is a fear I am overcoming. Along with sharing more of my thoughts along with photos. Normally, I am one to let the photo speak for itself.

ooo, so much to say. i'll try to keep it brief.
first - i LOVE your calligraphy. i do calligraphy as well, but in English, not the authentic version.
second - can i just tell you how happy i am to be finally, completely validated?? your calligraphy image is MY TATTOO! and i have been questioned many times if that truly is the symbol for happy/happiness. i've always feared it wasn't.
YEAH! it is!
third - i love hearing your thoughts. you inspire me. your words brought to mind a couple of quotes, but i'll spare you and just share one:
“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could;
some blunders and absurdities have crept in;
forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

thank you, dear friend, for making me appreciate this moment.

There are other forms of Happiness/Happy but this is the form in the book I am using to teach myself. And I'm feeble. So much to remember. When to press, when to lift, when to use just the wrist or the elbow. Ack, but it's a start. I've pages of lines and dots.

Wonderful quote. So many of our philosophers have a touch of Buddhism in their words.
