The Last of the Halo
You can take halo photos without blocking the sun but, to me, the halo stands out more with an object in front of the sun. Sometimes, you can find the right tree or building. I’ve even used a flower but I had nothing like that available. I started with grabbing a toy, liked that. Then, I thought ‘what if I use a flash to brighten the foreground object?’ I knew it wouldn’t reach the sky but would I like the results on the object. It was 50/50. Without the flash, the foreground object/subject becomes a silhouette.
Wishing everybody a Happy Easter and holiday.

No title
Sometimes, just as in an email subject line, I cannot think of a cute or meaningful title. Sleep was rough last night with the winds howling and a cold front that brought with it a flash freeze. We were in the 50s f yesterday and today, single digits. It's cold. I just want to hibernate. I will not fall for that pretty blue sky that begs to venture out with camera in hand. Instead, I am going to nest. In the crock pot, a savory beef stew. Later, some hot coffee, maybe even an Irish coffee, to warm the insides.
Stay warm!

Christmas Portrait
I have tried for many years to get a portrait look in SallyCat. This is as close as I've ever gotten. Not much to say. I'm just trying to stay warm and finish up with the holiday.

Country Refinement
It's been years since I've been to Biltmore Estate. The bottle of wine was a gift. The set up to the photo about drove me to drink. SallyCat wasn't happy to be posing on the ottoman and I was fearful of a fragile glass getting knocked over. I wish I had noticed that on one of the many times I had to catch Sally, that the bottle of wine wasn't facing quite right.
Have a Happy Weekend.

Happy Christmas
The calendar tells me Christmas is approaching at a lightning pace. Good thing I'm pretty much finished with my shopping, except for groceries for the feast.
I'm also thinking that I need to pull out the camera and torcher photograph SallyCat a bit more. She's proven to be a bit more tolerant than I could ever have hoped. At least I don't have any scars from our adventures.
Have a happy weekend. Snow flurries have me snuggling with a hot mug of coffee whilst the family finishes their shopping.

Satisfied

Just as with people, sometimes the need to just be heard is enough to bring about satisfaction. Even though life's events are still unknown, at least that small meow was heard. At least one can hope. Cryptic, I know..... but the underlying meaning is there. We all just want to be heard without judgment or worry that what we're saying will be misconstrued, twisted or used against us at some future date.
