Happy Christmas

The calendar tells me Christmas is approaching at a lightning pace. Good thing I'm pretty much finished with my shopping, except for groceries for the feast.

I'm also thinking that I need to pull out the camera and torcher photograph SallyCat a bit more. She's proven to be a bit more tolerant than I could ever have hoped. At least I don't have any scars from our adventures.

Have a happy weekend. Snow flurries have me snuggling with a hot mug of coffee whilst the family finishes their shopping.

the iDog really loves Bono (U2). :) Some of you will remember my iDog from a couple of Christmases ago. Yes, I still enjoy her dancing antics. This year, I really want the talking McCaw Parrot found at such great retailers as Target and Costco. It has many phrases but you can "teach" it your own phrases. Perhaps I can finally hear what I want to hear first thing in the morning? ;) I'm putting this out here on the Internet in hopes that my Karma will bring this bird my way. I have always wanted a bird but alas, I am allergic to feathers, plus the husband continually says no. I am hoping that a stuffed one will find its way under my tree this year.

Speaking of Christmas, I do believe today is the day I will bring up all the boxes and the tree. Maybe it'll even snow, it certainly looks like snow.

And on U2, has anybody picked up the digitally remastered release of the Joshua Tree? I see it includes an extra disc with more songs. Not sure if that will go on my list but perhaps a couple of the songs might make it to my iPod.

Christmas Tree Enso

It's been awhile since I shared an Enso. With Christmas approaching quickly and my home filling with Christmas decorations and carols spinning on the iPod. Soon the house will fill with the aroma of baking cookies but for now, O Christmas Tree.

Twinkle

A small, potted Norfolk pine tree that I've had for a couple of years. Normally, when one of these comes home to me, I seem to cut their life short.

Have you ever had a Folder you've tried to delete and no matter how many times you re-boot, you still get the dreaded "Cannot delete Folder: It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs...." Only thing, you cannot find any programs that might be still using the Folder. After struggling for a week or so, I found this nifty free program. Unlocker (for Windows) works as promised, a simple right click and a menu came up allowing me to unlock the folder, closing the application allowing me to finally Delete. As with any recommendations, use at your own risk.

Ice Cubes

This year, this little snowman is all that sits in my yard. I did not put out tons of lights this year. Just one little snowman. Maybe because I can so relate to wynne's dilemma. Only when I do this, it's after stringing tons of lights and climbing on a ladder. Did I ever mention my fear of ladders?! No. Well, I do. I'm okay so long as I do not have to go any higher than the second rung (from the bottom)! Any higher and I start to sweat and shake. Makes for some interesting decorations. ;-)

So this year, one little snowman.

Angel

An angel sits upon my treetop.

What is it that makes the holiday season special? Is it the magic of Santa? Or is it faith? A faith in ourselves and in the goodness of others? Faith in the meaning of Christmas beyond the commercial aspect. Is it the ability to feel the joy through the wonders of a child's delight?

Or is a combination of all those things. A belief in the unbelievable. So much we have trouble with. Believing in ourselves, the goodness we have in each of us. Believing that we are good enough and deserving of the richness that life has to offer. A richness that this holiday season abounds. Joyful singing, beautiful decorations, a magical belief, a spiritual connection, even the ability to give gifts that bring about joy and further the magic of Santa in a child's eye. It's all about belief.

If we carry with us a belief that we are not good enough as this season approaches, we feel it even deeper in all those twinkling lights, songs and even when we give. Some of us might even feel guilty for all that we have. Why, it's belief. Believe and have faith in yourself and allow the magic of the Christmas to warm your heart. Carry with you love and compassion and faith.

Give

"Tis the season. Give Live Love (Trademark Coca Cola). Also, found in my in-box, this morning's mantra. "Deal with the faults of others as gently as with your own." —Chinese proverb. Food for thought this morning as I deal with extended family issues. As I tend to be harder on myself, I think I will take this mantra to heart and try to be gentler with myself as well as those around me.

On the Santa Coke, for some reason, it appears to me that cola just tastes better when in a Santa can. :)

Winter

Winter is to make a return today with a storm warning beginning this afternoon. It could start with freezing rain and when it's all over, leave us with 15 inches of snow.
