Good Food

Grilled Chocolate Sandwich

And good drink, shared with good friends. Reflecting on the years that I have lived, and there have been many, the best moments were spent with friends whom I love enjoying a good meal. Those moments may not have always been celebrating good times. Many of those meals were shared while one or the other of us were experiencing deep, personal loss. This time, the gathering is to support me for I have.....*

*A bit of fiction as I attempt to stretch my creative writing. I've never been good at creative writing. I have so much admiration for writers. Those wonderful people who come up with a story with a beginning, middle and ending. Those people who can actually create believable characters.

PS. Not from the writing prompt but from the photo, which often serves as a prompt for me.

Well, ~I~ liked it!!! I think you have a creative mind and fantastic writing ability. But I do have to admit while reading this one that I was in a state of panic thinking I had forgotten your birthday!!! :D

I think writing prompts come from all sorts of places, pictures not being the least among them! In fact, I think they are a significant prompting source. You look at a picture of an old abandoned building or car or empty playground...and your imagination can't help but kick into overdrive.

More, more!!!

ya, but I have ended the little paragraph as I did because I haven't come up with an appropriate event... not something that is original, anyway. Maybe I can write about being carried away by Super Onion?

Of course, I only just wrote the words, while sitting here with my coffee.... And I expect a novel to just fly out of my fingertips? Or even a short story? I do respect writers for their patience and ability to actually finish a story.

Me too, too!!! It's all that middle and ending stuff that scares the daylights out of me!

Thanks Shirley. I can sometimes come up with an ending... it's all that middle stuff that scares me. I suppose that's another metaphor for life as life is all that middle stuff. It's messy, it's scary, it's unknown... and it's the greatest time of our life. The middle stuff, a jelly donut bursting forth with ooey goodness. A mess, but a good mess.

Beth, that would be a Grilled Chocolate Sandwich from a Martha Stewart Recipe. Oh and a Rose wine.

good lord you scared me for a minute. more i say, more! you've got talent, girl.
i know what you mean about not being able to get much past the opening lines. developing a middle and end and drama and comedy is hard.
but you can do it! (and the photo rocks.)
