A Polaroid Sunset

2048752674_9163781e38_o

After a day of gray skies, drizzle and even fog, the sun made a brief experience and my Polaroid was the nearest camera.

I'm sitting here, with a steaming mug of coffee, watching Oprah. Yes, folks, those of us in Chicagoland get to see it early and they even replay it after Nightline. As I'm watching it, she keeps slipping in and out of a Southern accent. And oooo, can I relate to that, especially the Macon, Georgia accent. Once upon a time, I lived in the Macon area, my daughter was even born in Macon. The husband never picked up the accent but me.... that's another story. And whenever I'm around anybody with the accent, I pick up as if I never left the south. Exceptin' my accent was always a bit mixed. I don't do it to be rude, it just happens.

And aside from coffee, sweet tea is about the best thing. The sweeter the better!!

Can you tell I've not much to say and much to do before our Thanksgiving holiday. Thing is, it's Oprah's favorite thing show and I like to live vicariously and it's another dreary day... and it's in Macon, Georgia.

Oh God...her Favorite Things show? I get so jealous!!! I would LOVE to get into one of those shows. I read somewhere that tom cruise was mad cuz Oprah wouldn't give his MOM a ticket to that show....um HELLO!!!! Go buy your mom that crap yourself!!!

I love sweet tea. We go the Outer Banks every summer, and I always end up talking with a southern accent...drives my family nuts...But I don't care. I love it.

I know, if I could afford to buy those things.... to be on that show. I could have been if still in Macon. The only prerequisite, to be a loyal Oprah watcher. :) And I am a loyal watcher. :)

Sweet tea and southern accents... life is good. ;) I can't help it, I don't have to be around a southerner long before it creeps into my speech.

I've meant to leave a comment a dozen times, I think. I keep getting sidetracked. Love the vintage looking shot.

Speaking of accents, have you heard Alison Krauss singing 'Georgia'. (Not sure if that's the correct title--it's the word that stands out in the song. I love how she says 'Georgia'.

After eleven years in North Carolina I get a little nostalgic for the accent.
