New Music

Music & Iced Coffee

A quote from the liner notes:  "It was the in-between time, before day leaves and night comes, a time I have never been partial to because of the sadness that lingers in the space between coming and going." Sue Monk Kidd, The Secret Life of Bees.

*Now Playing: Before You Leave by Mary Gauthier - Between Daylight and Dark

I love that book and have many quotes written in one of my many personal journals. The cd was downloaded using iTunes and a wonderful digital booklet was included. It was a busy week for music.

Included in the new music, James Blunt-All the Lost Souls, Reba-Duets, KT Tunstall-Drastic Fantastic (I love the song The Beauty of Uncertainty) and finally, Mary Gauthier-Between Daylight and Dark. The music fits with my introspective and quiet frame of mind.

On the photo, I'm not fond of the way the opening in the CD case shows up in this photo. Always, the inner critic's voice sees.

Have a beautiful weekend.

*Now Playing: No Profit In Regret (Bonus Track) by Mary Gauthier - Between Daylight and Dark

"Regret is like a rocking chair, it keeps you moving but you go no where." Mary Gauthier

I've seen that book a zillion times and wondered if I might like to read it. I like the picture... especially loving the soft toning! And we are always our own worst critic! I haven't a clue what you're even talking about in the picture.

You'd probably like it better than the Kite Runner! Thanks on the photo but it's just something I missed when scrunching the CDs together. The little opening on the cd liner bugs me as there's no plastic over it so it shows up more... just me.

So far I'm sticking with The Kite Runner, but I will be happy to finish it. I'm determined to finish it!

what a fine, fine photo, Bonnie.
now isn't it funny.... that time of day is my favorite. i don't find a space in that time at all, but rather a melding of light into dark. I love to take a walk at that time of day. The weather at that time is nice, here in the desert and i can tell that people are busy in their homes preparing dinner. Oh the smells... the aromas of so many different kinds of food cooking. I LOVE that time of day.

hugs!

The Kite Runner can be a tough read but at times but I finished it.

wynne, I kind of like walking at twilight but only after the first freeze and those mosquitoes are all but gone. :) Hehe, I was at Walgreens the other day buying AfterBite and bug spray talking with the cashier and she had one that stalked her all night buzzing her ear every hour!! It's not just me. :))

life does indeed go on in blogger-land... i've missed being around - see that my friends are still here, thank goodness. :) you HAVE been busy with music, b. and, yes, it seems a lot is coming out right now. as well as some good movies. back to music - i've seen several performers (including reba, kelly clarkson and justin) on the tube lately. and i was astounded that i really liked one of JT's songs - something about "what comes around goes around."
guess i'm not too old after all. ;-)
and i'll try to be a better blog-friend. try; but my life won't be my own for quite a while yet. dammit.
