Phantasmagoric

About time to slip on the walking shoes and take The Wonderdog for a walk. Hope you all have a beautiful, magical day.

Nice perspective, very "Alice in Wonderland"

Quick question: I just purchased a Brownie Starflex off of ebay (was inspired by your TTV photographs). I'll be using my point and shoot with my macro settings since buying a macro lens for my DSLR would be quite expensive. My question is, do I need to remove the hood in order to shoot through the viewfinder? It seems to abstruct the view somewhat if left in place.

Thanks ron. As for removing the hood on the Starflex, I wasn't able to do so and from my understanding, it's not an easy task.

There are many methods and many use the p&s. I use my Panasonic with close-up filters as I can't afford a good macro lens either.

Check out this thread to see what others have come up with.

TtV Group Contraptions

WOW. Amazing contraptions.

I just had my Starflex in pieces a few minutes ago and was afraid I wouldn't be able to get it back together. Fortunately I managed to, and cleaned the lens and viewfinder in the process. It's all plastic, in case you were wondering. Just couldn't get that darn hood off though. All because of one screw.

Thanks for the info!

Mine is nowhere near as complicated. I just bought some heavy, but flexible foam stuff from the craft store and wrapped it around the top of the camera.

It's addicting and challenging as I know when I take the photo that I won't be cropping it in post processing. Speaking of which, many give their images a cross-processed look. I do what feel right for the image.

Have fun, Ron.

I also found the Starflex, while it came apart easily for cleaning, went back together with much difficulty.

Thanks Blue. Yep, the neighbors all think I'm a bit crazy, crawling around on my belly even when the grass is wet and cold. :)
